How it works

How to use the free seo checker and website audit

Enter a website address to run 25 SEO checks, a Google speed test and a tech stack scan at once. You get one score, a ranked list of fixes and a PDF report you can send the owner.

  1. 1

    Enter the website

Paste the page you want to audit, usually the business home page.

  2. 2

    Watch it fill in

SEO checks land in seconds, and the Google speed test takes 10 to 60 seconds.

  3. 3

    Start at the top

Work down the ranked fix list, then open any check to see what we found.

  4. 4

    Download the report

Save the branded PDF for the owner, or copy a plain-text summary.

Good to know

What the audit checks

One address runs three tests at the same time:

  • 25 SEO checks on the HTML the server sends, plus robots.txt and the sitemap: content, technical tags, social and structured data, local SEO and crawlability.
  • A Google speed test through PageSpeed Insights, on a simulated phone and on desktop, for scores, Core Web Vitals and screenshots.
  • A tech stack scan for the website builder or CMS, hosting, analytics and booking tools.

How the overall score works

Five categories, each out of 100, make up one overall score:

  • SEO (30%): the content, technical, social and crawl checks.
  • Performance (25%): Google's mobile speed score.
  • Local SEO (15%): business schema, phone, click-to-call, address and map.
  • Accessibility and Best practices (15% each): from Google's test.

90 and up is good, 50 to 89 needs work, and under 50 is poor. If a part cannot be measured, the score is weighted across the rest. The fix list ranks every failed or weak SEO check and Google's top speed issues by how much each costs the score.

Core Web Vitals in plain English

Google's Core Web Vitals describe how a page feels to a visitor:

  • LCP: how long the main content takes to appear. Target: 2.5 seconds or less.
  • INP: how quickly the page reacts to a tap. Target: 200 milliseconds or less.
  • CLS: how much content jumps while loading. Target: 0.1 or less.

They come from real Chrome visitors, and most local sites lack the traffic. The audit then shows lab measurements from one test on a simulated phone.

The local checks that matter most

For a plumber or a dentist, the site has one job: turn a searcher into a call. Start here:

  • A visible phone number as text, plus a click-to-call link for phone visitors.
  • LocalBusiness schema with the same name, address and phone as the Google Business Profile. The Local Business Schema Generator writes it.
  • An address or areas served, and a Google Maps link.
  • No stray noindex tag, often left on after a redesign.

What it cannot see

The audit reads one page at one moment. Text a site adds with JavaScript after loading can be missed, and it cannot see the Google Business Profile, reviews or backlinks, which drive local rankings. Treat it as a checklist, not a ranking forecast.

With a prospect, lead with one or two problems the owner can confirm, like no tap-to-call link on mobile, and attach the PDF. Need more sites to audit? SiteSeeker finds local businesses from map listings by city and category and flags the ones with no website.
