SiteSeeker vs SiteDrop AI: Which Is Better for Selling Websites?

SiteSeeker vs SiteDrop AI compared on lead search, AI building, client payments, hosting and price, with where each tool is the better pick.

On this page

SiteSeeker and SiteDrop AI are built for the same person: someone who finds local businesses without a website, builds them one with AI and sells it. Both tools find leads, generate sites and host them. The real differences are in how many leads you get for your money, how you choose which ones to call, and how the client ends up paying you.

Disclosure: the SiteSeeker team wrote this comparison, so we make one of the two products. We tried to be fair. Every SiteDrop fact below comes from SiteDrop's own public pages, checked on September 26 and 27, 2026, and is linked. Prices and features change. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Quick verdict

SiteSeeker is the pick if you sell websites to local businesses for a living. It gives you far more lead searches for the money, scores every lead from 0 to 100, and lets clients pay, and keep paying for maintenance, through a Stripe checkout. SiteDrop AI costs less to start, returns email and social contacts with its leads, and takes no cut because it sends invoices instead of running the payment.

SiteSeekerOur pick
Best for designers who prospect several niches and towns every month and want clients to pay through a checkout, with maintenance billed automatically.

Best for testing the idea at the lowest monthly price, with PDF invoices, no platform fee and email addresses on its leads.

Why sellers pick SiteSeeker

  • More lead searches for the money

Pro includes 200 search credits a month for $29 and Max includes 500. SiteDrop's Starter includes 5 searches and its $50 Pro plan includes 25.

  • Several niches and cities in one search

Search up to 5 categories and up to 5 cities in one go, 20 combinations at most, with each niche and city pair using a credit. Results are deduplicated and limited to businesses with no website listed on Google Maps.

  • A score that tells you who to call

Every lead gets a 0 to 100 score built from rating, claimed listing, proximity and how recently the business got a review, so dormant listings sink.

  • Clients pay through a checkout

Set a price, share a purchase link, and the client pays through Stripe. Monthly maintenance becomes a subscription that pays out to you.

  • Hosts what you built elsewhere

Host AI-built sites plus ZIP uploads, GitHub repos and server-rendered projects such as Next.js, SvelteKit and Lovable builds, with custom domains and SSL.

  • Call scripts and a pipeline

Generate a cold-call script with objections, voicemail and an SMS follow-up for 1 credit, then track the lead through an 8-stage pipeline.

Finding leads: the biggest difference

Both tools search Google's local business data and flag businesses without a website. SiteDrop says its Lead Finder covers "200M+ local businesses", enriched with phone, email and social signals, and exports to CSV. That enrichment is a real advantage. SiteSeeker gives you the phone number from the listing and nothing more, so if you prospect mainly by email, SiteDrop hands you more to work with per lead.

The gap is volume and focus. SiteDrop's Starter plan includes 5 lead searches a month at up to 50 results each, Pro includes 25 and Business 100. SiteSeeker Pro includes 200 search credits a month and Max includes 500. Each niche in each city costs 1 credit in a quick search and 4 in a comprehensive one, results have no plan cap, searches served from cache cost nothing, and failed searches are refunded. A single search can cover up to 5 niches and up to 5 cities, 20 combinations at most, so "plumbers, roofers and electricians in three nearby towns" is one search (it uses 9 credits).

SiteSeeker also returns only businesses with no website listed, then scores each one from 0 to 100. The score weighs the rating, whether the listing is claimed, distance, keyword relevance and how recently the business got a review. That last signal matters most in practice: a plumber with 40 reviews and nothing new in two years is a worse call than one with 12 reviews from last month. Our guide on finding businesses without websites explains why.

Building the site

Both builders take a short description and produce a site you refine by chatting, and both can build a page for a lead you found. SiteDrop also lets you click to edit and advertises "Unlimited Revisions". SiteSeeker's AI website builder starts from the saved lead's listing, so the build uses the business's own name, address, hours and filtered Google reviews. It keeps a version history you can roll back to, lets you use stock photos, AI images or the owner's own, and exports the code as a ZIP or syncs it to GitHub.

Two honest limits on our side. SiteSeeker's builder makes single-page sites, and it launched in August 2026, so it is still changing quickly. We have not run both builders on the same business, so we will not tell you whose output looks better. Build a site for the same real lead in each tool and judge for yourself.

Getting paid by the client

This is the biggest practical difference after lead volume.

SiteDrop gives you invoicing: you create invoices, send them as PDFs and track who has paid. "Your clients pay you directly," and SiteDrop says it does not touch the money, so it takes no cut.

SiteSeeker runs the payment. You set a sale price, share a purchase link that shows the site beside the offer, and the client pays through Stripe checkout into your payout account. You can add monthly maintenance, which becomes its own subscription, so the fee arrives every month without chasing. There is a 2% platform fee on the one-time sale, which you can pass to the buyer, and 1% on maintenance.

Sites you deploy from a ZIP upload or a GitHub repo also get a conversion bar that counts views and clicks. Sites made in the AI builder do not; they get the purchase link with a price. For what to charge in the first place, see how much to charge for a website.

Hosting, domains and cancelling

Both tools host the sites they build, let you connect a custom domain and let you buy one without leaving the app. On SiteSeeker, SSL is set up automatically and domains are bought through Namecheap.

SiteSeeker also hosts sites you did not build with it: ZIP uploads, GitHub sync and server-rendered projects on frameworks such as Next.js, Remix, SvelteKit, Astro and Lovable's TanStack builds. Pro covers 50 hosted sites and Max 100. If you already manage client sites elsewhere, that puts them in one dashboard. Our guide to hosting client websites covers how to charge for it.

Ask every hosted builder what happens to client sites if you stop paying. SiteDrop's terms are direct: "When your subscription ends, websites hosted through SiteDrop will be taken offline." That is normal for hosted platforms, so ask the same of SiteSeeker and anyone else.

SiteDrop is $4 a month cheaper to start, and its yearly discount is deeper: $199 a year against SiteSeeker's $290. If price is the only thing you compare, SiteDrop wins. Per lead search, SiteSeeker costs far less, and it adds a 30-day money-back guarantee, where SiteDrop's terms say payments are non-refundable once a billing period has begun.

What the AI credits buy

On SiteSeeker, a website build reserves up to 15 AI credits (30 with AI images) and is charged for what it actually uses. Chat edits reserve up to 12, and call scripts and website prompts cost 1 each. Extra credits are a monthly add-on at $0.10 per credit, and unused credits roll over up to twice your monthly grant.

SiteDrop's cost per site is not clear from public sources. Its terms say "Standard site generation consumes approximately 5 credits; individual edits consume 1 credit," while other public answers say building does not use credits at all. SiteDrop sells credit top-ups. Until the build cost is settled, we will not claim either tool gets you more sites per dollar.

Who should pick SiteDrop AI instead

Pick SiteDrop AI if you are testing whether selling websites is for you and want the smallest bill for a first month, if you prospect mostly by email and want addresses on the lead, or if your clients are happy paying an invoice and you already have a way to collect. It covers the whole loop at a low price. Just check the build credit cost with SiteDrop before you plan around volume.

How to try SiteSeeker alongside SiteDrop

You do not have to switch everything at once. Run both for a month on the same town and compare what you close.

  1. 1

    Run one multi-niche search

Pick several trades and nearby cities in the Lead Finder, up to 20 combinations, and search once. Each trade and city pair uses a credit, and every result has no website listed.

  2. 2

    Call the highest scores first

Start with the highest 0 to 100 scores, save the best leads to the pipeline and generate a cold-call script for the ones you plan to ring.

  3. 3

    Build from a saved lead

Start the AI build from the lead so it uses the business's own name, hours and reviews, then refine it in chat.

  4. 4

Set a price and share the link

Add a sale price and optional monthly maintenance, then send the purchase link after the call.

  5. 5

    Move sites you already host

If you have the files for an existing client site, upload the ZIP or connect its GitHub repo, then point the domain at SiteSeeker.

Which one to choose

If your bottleneck is finding enough good leads and getting paid on time, SiteSeeker is built around exactly that: more searches, a score that ranks who to call, and a checkout that collects the sale and the maintenance. If your bottleneck is budget and you prefer invoices, SiteDrop AI is a reasonable, cheaper start.

Neither tool guarantees a sale. A business with no website and a ready preview gets you a conversation, not a client. Frequently asked questions

Is SiteDrop AI legit?
SiteDrop AI is a real, paid product. Its terms of service name Viral Studios, LLC in Austin, Texas as the operator, and payments go through Stripe. The domain was registered in November 2025, so it is young. Automated trust scanners disagree about it, mostly because they weigh domain age, and it had no Trustpilot page when we checked on September 26, 2026. We have no evidence of wrongdoing either way. If you are unsure, start on a monthly plan.
Does SiteDrop AI have a free trial?
Its website did not show a free trial when we checked on September 27, 2026. It advertises cancel anytime and no setup fees, and its terms say payments are non-refundable once a billing period has begun. SiteSeeker plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
How many credits does a website cost on each tool?
On SiteSeeker, a website build reserves up to 15 AI credits (30 with AI images) and is charged for what it actually uses, and each chat edit reserves up to 12. On SiteDrop AI we could not confirm it. Its terms say a standard site generation uses approximately 5 credits and each edit uses 1, but other public answers say building does not use credits at all. Ask SiteDrop directly before you buy a plan based on build volume.
Is sitedrop.ai the same as sitedrop.live?
No. sitedrop.live is a separate, unrelated AI site builder run by a UK company. This comparison is about SiteDrop AI at sitedrop.ai.
Does SiteSeeker charge a fee when a client pays me?
Yes. When a client pays through SiteSeeker checkout, there is a 2% platform fee on the one-time sale and 1% on monthly maintenance. You can pass the 2% on to the buyer as a line item. SiteDrop AI charges no fee because it does not process client payments; it issues PDF invoices and the client pays you directly.
